Blake Moreno
Blake led all Eagle hitters in runs scored (28), singles (20), and was second in total hits (24). This helped Moreno keep a solid .338 average (4th) and a .459 on-base percentage (3rd). Blake spent the first half of the season batting second in the lineup and was moved to the lead off spot after a varsity call-up. Moreno was also 4th in doubles (3) while managing to hit 1 triple. He finished the year with 12 runs batted in, with a season high of 2 in 3 different games (Hamilton, Novi, Canyon Springs). Moreno started almost every game at second base, with one brief stint as the designated hitter, and one game at shortstop.
Daniel Beltran
Daniel was second on the team in average (.372) and led all Eagles in on-base percentage (.506) finding his way on base over half the time. This high on-base percentage allowed Beltran to tie for the team lead in stolen bases (8) and 2nd in runs scored (26). Beltran was also tied for 2nd in walks (16), 2nd in doubles (4), 3rd in runs batted in (14), and first in homeruns (1). Beltran's biggest game came at home against Canyon Springs where he drove in 3 runs. He also stole 3 bases in one game against Tahquitz in the second game of the tournament. Daniel bounced around in the lineup, finding time batting 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. He remained consistent in the outfield, however, spending the bulk of his time in center field.
Ryan Villarreal
Ryan was the Eagles most prolific offensive threat this year batting from both the 3/4 hole, leading the team in hits (29), average (.381), doubles (6), triples (4), and runs batted in (22). He was also second on the team in singles (19) and third in runs scored (23). Had the bulk of the games actually been played on a field with a fence, the majority of those triples would have gone for homeruns, with Villarreal blasting balls over the outfield and legging out a triple. Ryan spent the entire season behind the plate managing the Eagle pitchers after his return from varsity at the start of the season. Villarreal's best games came against Moreno Valley and Ramona where he drove in 3 runs apiece.
Brian Bos
Brian showed his versatility this year starting for the Eagles at first base, third base, catcher, right field, and designated hitter. Bos not only played these multiple positions, but managed to play them well. He flashed the leather making plays at at 3rd and 1st base, as well as gunning runners out with his arm from the outfield. Batting clean-up late in the year, Bos managed to bat .333 (5th), and was 2nd on the team in triples with 2, both coming in the same game (once with the bases loaded). Brian's biggest hit of the year came in an extra-inning game against Arlington, smashing in the game-winning run in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs and 2 strikes against him.
Dennis Martine
Dennis managed to have a great season on both the mound and inside the batters box. He led all Eagle pitchers in ERA (2.13), appearances (11), innings pitched (59), WHIP (1.27), pickoffs (7), and strikeouts (88). Martine boasted an impressive 5.8-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio, while striking out nearly a batter and a half per inning. His dominance was most evident against Rancho Verde, as he totaled 16 innings in two starts, striking out 21 and allowing 0 runs on 6 hits, picking up two wins in the process. Dennis finished the year with a 6-3 record on JV, while managing several more victories at the varsity level as well. Martine got it done at the dish as well, flashing a .363 average (3rd), and 11 runs batted in (6th), and 5 runs scored (10th). Dennis even flashed the wheels, stealing an impressive 4 bases (7th).
Shawn Sampson
Shawn showed his versatility as well for the Eagles, starting at 3rd, 2nd, and right field when needed. He batted .304 (8th) on the year, with 10 runs scored (7th) and 8 runs batted in (7th). Shawn also stole 6 bases (4th), and managed to draw a total of 7 walks (6th). Sampson's biggest game came against Moreno Valley, where he drove 4 runs, half of his season total. Shawn also stole 2 bases twice during the year, once against Tahquitz, and once versus Ramona.
Connor Hillis
Connor started every game for the Eagles in left field, proving to be a solid defender as well as asset at the plate. He batted .307 (7th) and was 4th on the team in hits with 20. Connor swiped 7 bags on the year, good enough for 3rd on the team, 1 shy of the team lead. He also scored 12 runs (5th), and was 4th on the team with a .452 on-base percentage, mainly in part to his team leading 17 walks. Connor tied for 2nd on the team in doubles with 4, and stands alone at 2nd with 15 runs batted in.
Marshall Lee
Marshall spent the first portion of the season as the designated hitter until he was later moved to shortstop after a varsity call up. Marshall took advantage of this, as he found a way on base whatever way possible, as he had a .400 on-base percentage (9th) while batting .230 (12th). He was 4th on the team with 15 walks, and 5th in runs scored with 12. Lee totaled 9 hits on the year, all singles, but managed to drive in an impressive 13 runs (4th). Even more impressive, Marshall accomplished these stats batting primarily from the 9 hole. Marshall drove in 3 runs twice on the year, once against Moreno Valley, and once against Valley View.
Chandler Morgan
Chandler found time at multiple positions as well for the Eagles, but managed to do his best work on the mound, sporting a team high winning percentage (1.00) with a 5-0 record. Pitching in 7 games (3rd) he totaled 29.2 innings (3rd) with a 5.91 ERA (3rd). Chandler struck out 26 (3rd) while walking 12 (T-1st), and only hit 1 batter (T-1st). At the plate Chandler batted .304 (8th), with 4 runs scored (12th), 2 stolen bases (10th), and 7 total hits on the year. When Chandler wasn't pitching he was usually playing outfield, as well as seeing some time at designated hitter. Chandler put together an impressive final week, throwing 10 innings, allowing 5 runs while striking out 15 batters in relief against Vista Del Lago and Ramona.
Kyle Lopez
Kyle found his way into the lineup as both an outfielder, and a designated hitter throughout the course of the year. He batted .315 (6th) and tied for the team high in stolen bases (8). He scored a total of 6 runs (9th), and had 3 runs batted in. Kyle's bests game came against Moreno Valley, where he went 3-5 with 2 singles, a double, 2 stolen bases, and 3 runs scored. He also swiped 3 bags in the season finale against Vista Del Lago.
Andrew Hardy
Hardy logged innings on the mound for the Eagles, as well as at third base, and designated hitter. He finished the season 2nd in both innings pitched (35.2) and strikeouts (38). He finished with an ERA of 6.67 (4th), and was 3rd in wins with 3. His record at seasons end was 3-2, while he was third on the team in WHIP (2.10) and led the team in hit batters (12). At the plate, Hardy batted .285 (11th) with 5 hits and 7 runs batted in. His best game came against Moreno Valley where he threw a complete game, striking out 13 and allowing only 1 run on 3 hits.
Brad Schwandt
Brad also split time between the pitchers mound and the field, as well as designated hitter. He boasted a 1-0 record as a pitcher, with an ERA of 5.06 (3rd). He struck out 11 batters (4th) in 16.2 innings of work (4th) while walking 12. At the plate Brad batted .272 (10th) with 9 hits, 11 walks (T-4th) and 6 runs scored (9th). He also drove in 5 runs, while swiping 1 bag. Schwandt's best game came against Moreno Valley where he drove in 3 runs, more than half his season total.
