The La Sierra Eagles (13-5, 9-3) completed their season sweep of Valley View on Thursday with a commanding 14-7 victory. The Eagles scored 4 runs in each of the first two innings to give them a commanding lead that Valley View could not overcome. The Eagle offense was led by Daniel Beltran (3-4) with a homerun, 2 singles, 3 runs scored, and 3 RBI. Marshall Lee (1-3) also drive in 3 runs on the day while scoring once. Blake Moreno scored a total of 3 times, going 1-3 with 2 walks. Ryan Villarreal and Brian Bos each scored twice, while Connor Hillis, Shawn Sampson, and Brad Schwandt scored once. Andrew Hardy helped his own cause on the mound by driving in 2 runs at the plate, helping him earn the win. Hardy threw 4 shutout innings, allowing only 2 hits and striking out 5. Chandler Morgan started on the hill for the Eagles, allowing 7 runs in 3 innings and striking out 1. The Eagles will finish league next week with Ramona at home on Tuesday, and @ Vista Del Lago on Thursday, both at 3:15.
Notes: This sweep is the 4th sweep of the year for the Eagles (Rancho Verde, Moreno Valley, Arlington, Valley View). The Eagles have only been swept by one team thus far (Canyon Springs).
