The Eagles (11-5, 7-3) were swept in the series with Canyon Springs on Thursday, losing by a score of 14-6. Canyon Springs scored 9 in the opening frame against starter Andrew Hardy, and the eagles would not recover. Daniel Beltran led the Eagles offensively, going 2-4 with a triple and 2 RBI's, while Ryan Villarreal added two doubles and an RBI of his own. Blake Moreno and Shawn Sampson led the team in scoring, each with 2 runs scored. This drops the Eagles league record to 7-3, keeping their position at second place.
Notes: 2 of the 3 league losses have come at the hands of Canyon Springs. The 9 runs in the first inning was the most allowed by an Eagles starter all season. The Eagles drew a total of 8 walks in the game.
