La Sierra vs Norte Vista

3-16-10
The La Sierra Eagles improved their record to 4-1 Tuesday with a victory at home over rival Norte Vista High School by a score of 7-11. Despite bringing down 4 varsity starters, Novi couldn't keep the Eagles bats quiet long enough to come away with a victory. The Eagles fell into an early 2-0 hole, but managed another comeback win with the help of back to back four-run innings, in both the 5th and 6th. Chandler Morgan won his second game in as many starts, going 5 innings and allowing 6 runs on 7 hits. Bradley Schwandt took over the 6th, allowing no runs on 1 hit. Dennis Martine closed out the game on the hill by striking out both batters he faced. The Eagles offense was led by Blake Moreno, Connor Hillis, and Marshall Lee, each driving in 2 runs. Moreno was 2-4 with 2 singles, while Lee singled, drew 2 walks, and reached on an error. Lee also scored a team high 3 runs and stole a base. All but one batter in the Eagles starting lineup scored at least one run, while Daniel Beltran, Matt Gonzalez, and Bradley Schwandt each scored twice.
The Eagles will take on King High School on Thursday at La Sierra at 3:15.
