The La Sierra Eagles improved their overall record to 8-3 (4-1 league) Wednesday with a win against the Ramona Rams, in a game played in a neutral location due to unplayable field conditions. The Eagles came out swinging, scoring 1 run in the top of the first on 3 hits and a walk. Daniel Beltran got things started with a single, followed by singles by Ryan Villarreal and Brian Bos. The Eagles would score 2 more in the third, 3 in the fifth, and 2 in the seventh to extend their margin of victory to 5. The Ramona Rams would score 3 in the game on 9 hits and 1 walk. The Eagle offense was led by Ryan Villarreal, Blake Moreno, Brian Bos, Brad Schwandt, and Marshall Lee, each with 2 hits. Shawn Sampson went 3-4 with 2 singles, 1 double, and 2 runs scored. Dennis Martine (5-3) picked up his 5th win of the year in a complete game, striking out 12 and allowing 3 runs on 9 hits and 1 walk.
