The La Sierra Eagles (8-4, 4-2) dropped their second league game of the year by a score of 7-4 to Vista Del Lago on Tuesday, April 20th. Vista Del Lago scored in both the 3rd and 4th inning to jump out to an early lead and would never look back. Despite a strong pitching performance starter Andrew Hardy took the loss. Hardy threw 6.1 innings and allowed 6 runs on 6 hits, 1 walk, and 6 errors behind him. He also struck out 6 on the day. The Eagles offense managed 4 runs, 2 of them driven in by Ryan Villarreal. Villarreal was 1-3 with a triple, 2 RBI's, and a sacrifice. Connor Hillis was 2-2 on the day with 2 stolen bases and a run scored. Dennis Martine accounted for the rest of the RBI's, with a pinch-hit 2 run single.
Notes: The Eagles stole a total of 5 bases in the game. Hardy only allowed 1 hit in the first 18 batters faced. The 6 errors in the game are a season team high. Marshall Lee moved to shortstop in place of varsity call-up J'Anthony Sanchez.
